In the Spring of 2005, members of the Silver Spring Alumni Chapter began conceptualizing the idea of creating a step team. By the Fall of the same year a show presented itself, and Brothers within the Chapter made a point to have Kappa Alpha Psi represented.
The Silver Spring Alumni Step team has performed in various shows, including but not limited to the Prince Georges County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Step Show, the Black History Month Program at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, The Black History Month Performance at the Sherwood Community Center, fashion shows, Silver Spring Thanksgiving Day Parades, on local media stations and others.
